UNIFORM: As we are co-located with Oasis Academy many of our pupils wear Academy school uniform. However, we understand that your child may have sensory issues around clothing so we are happy for them to wear what they feel comfortable in when first starting school. Black trousers/joggers, trainers and white polo are fine.
For pupils that include in Oasis Academy Lessons must wear the approved academy uniform.
Oasis Academy Uniform: Blazer with Academy logo, white long or short-sleeved shirt (not a polo shirt or t-shirt), Academy tie, black trousers (not jeans), and dark socks, black shoes (not trainers).
Please note that the uniform at Kingsweston Centre Brightstowe is under review for the year 22/23 and changes will be communicated to parents as soon as a decision has been made.
PE Kit: White PE polo shirt, black shorts, black tracksuit bottoms for cold weather and trainers. PE Kit should be sent in on the first day of term and it will be sent home periodically for washing.
Academy uniform is only available from Sportswear International via an online or telephone order. Their website is www.swischoolwear.co.uk, then select PARENT LOGIN. For the purpose of uniform – please choose Oasis Academy Brightstowe as your child’s school.
Please note The only jewellery permitted is one pair of small earrings, a wristwatch, and one ring on each hand. Other types of piercings are not allowed on Health and Safety grounds.
LUNCH:
There is a cashless system in operation at the Kingsweston Centre. All pupils have a card (like a credit card) which is kept in the office. Lunch money should be sent into school with your child, preferably on a Monday. Cash needs to be in an envelope with the pupil’s name on it. You can choose to pay weekly or send money to cover a longer period. Payment is credited to the pupil’s card and the cost of lunch is deducted each day. There is no facility to use cash at the till. Parents must ensure that there is sufficient money to cover the price of meals.
Pupils entitled to free school meals have exactly the same card but the system registers that they have free meals. The free school meal allowance covers a main meal and a pudding (a meal deal) or just a Panini. If your child wants a Panini and pudding/drink, they will need to bring in an extra £1 to cover the extra cost.
A meal deal currently costs £2.50 per day or £12.50 per week. Please find a menu to download below.
